Criminal justice agencies are moving toward an evidence-based orientation where work can be evaluated using measures of efficiency and effectiveness. These evaluations require leadership to define how the organization produces outcomes. The answer to these questions is facilitated using an organizational blueprint where the logical connections between outcomes, practices, the agencies rationale, and assessment are specified. Once, complete, the agencies blueprint is used to evaluate and improve the impact on individual and agency objectives.

The blueprint approach used by Northpointe creates a common architecture for the criminal justice process. In this work, Northpointe is partnering with agencies to identify organizational and case management improvements in the local criminal justice system. Emphasis is placed on creating continuity in the decision-making practices of the system. These decisions are the context for improvement through the introduction of evidence-based approaches.
